Best Of Show at The Northeastern Poultry Congress
Earlier this month, we took a trip to Springfield, Massachusetts, to attend the Northeastern Poultry Congress. The NEPC is the largest poultry show in New England, where exhibitors bring their chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, pigeons, and more to compete for the Best of Show title. It was a marvelous sight to see so many beautiful birds. Each bird competing is judged by the American Poultry Association’s or American Bantam Association’s standard of perfection, outlining how each breed should look.
Although we didn’t exhibit any birds this year, David entered two photos into the photography contest and won in his category of Best Amateur Portrait. Additionally, he secured the Best in Show award for photography. Next year, we plan to submit more photos, perhaps even competing with some of our show-quality hens.
